Stephen Leatherdale writes character-based, literary fiction. His stories explore why people do what they do as they endeavour to negotiate their way through life. His plots are deceptively gentle and typically all is not how it first appears. He has a grand love of description, humour and language, which is evident in his writing.
Stephen is inspired by such writers as Kate Atkinson and Melissa Harrison. He admires the work of any author who helps him see the world in a fresh new way. He has self-published two novellas and a novel whilst also contributing numerous short stories to anthologies and online publications. He lives in a small village on the Essex coast, where long walks by the salt marshes flood his mind with ideas for new stories.
As he dreams his dreams, Stephen is grateful for the love, support and affection of his family and friends.
